While applications for artists closed on 26th March 2010, we are still on the look out for prospective sponsors.
If you are interested in becoming a sponsor of Bury and Ramsbottom Art Week, there are two options.

Submissions Draw

Firstly, we would like to thank all the artists who have applied to be part of the inaugural Bury and Ramsbottom Art Week.
The draw for submissions will be made this week and everyone will then be informed in writing whether or not their applications have been successful.

Meet the Artweek Patrons

Councillor Sheila Magnall, Mayor of Bury was born in Accrington, Lancashire in 1940 and was educated at Accrington High School for Girls.
She has lived in the Bury area for more than forty years and has also had homes in Summerseat, Ramsbottom and Shuttleworth.
Her present home is in Greenmount. The Mayor’s early career was that of a Secretary, but she later became involved as a partner in her family’s building business.
Councillor Magnall has been involved in community, charitable and political activities for many years and was elected a Conservative Councillor for Ramsbottom in the year 2000.
The Mayor has had particular involvement in The Bury Hospice Association, The Royal National Lifeboat Institution, The Ocean Youth Club, The Women’s Institute and The Ramsbottom Horticultural Society.
The Mayor is a mother of three – a daughter, the Mayoress, Mrs. Elizabeth Pepper and two sons, Andrew and Malcolm. The Mayor has one grand daughter, Rosie.
Derek Calrow is a stockbroker who joined Knowsley Street stockbrokers, James Sharp & Co., as a Bury Grammar school leaver and has been with them for over half a century, now as a part-time consultant.
Derek never left Sharp & Co., but he did spend some time during the early 1960’s in London, gaining valuable experience on the Stock Exchange floor. When he returned to Bury, he joined the Oldham Stock Exchange and is the last member to pursue an active role. In 1972 he became a partner at James Sharp – a member of the London Stock Exchange. He retired from that particular role in 2003.
Outside work, Derek, is a governor at Bury Grammar School and a former chairman of the Bury Parish Church Step Inside Appeal. He is heavily involved in charity work and also owns two Leyland buses from Lytham St. Annes which he has had restored.
66-year-old Derek, is married to Barbara and has two daughters and six grandchildren.
