Welcome to our third year of Bury Art Week which we are proud to announce will be an Open Exhibition held exclusively at Bury Art Gallery. Artists selected will be in the company of exciting regional contributors and artists’ names will be in our brochure sold to the public at the venue. We are seeking to welcome a wide variety of media from painting to sculpture, ceramics and jewellery.
Art Week 
2011 was a very successful exhibition. We displayed works by 96 artists, sold 96 items and made over £20,000, more than £11,000 of which went to Bury Hospice!
Art Week supports the marvellous work of Bury Hospice which provides end-of-life care for the terminally ill and their families. It is deservedly a much cherished organisation. To find out more visit the website www.buryhospice.org.uk.
New for 2012
Our Director of Art
We welcome 
Gerry Halpin MBE, MAFA to Art Week.
Gerry has joined our team as Art Director for 2012 and is a well -established artist with a national reputation for contemporary art inspired by landscapes. He has been elected a life member of MAFA and was awarded the MBE for his service to art and charity.
Gerry will lead the selection process and is looking forward to welcoming both artists familiar to us from our previous art weeks and artists new to the exhibition this year.
Art Prizes
Also new for 2012, we have introduced two prizes to be awarded during the exhibition. The Best in Show prize will be awarded to the Artists displaying what the judges consider to be the best piece in the exhibition. The People’s Choice prize will be voted on by those visiting the exhibition and will be awarded at the end of ArtWeek 2012
